Plans are coming together for the 2012 Chicago International Social Change Film
Festival (CISCFF). We are very excited to see what the creative minds of filmmakers
around the globe have to offer us.

As for the purpose of the film festival, we want filmmakers to have a proper forum that
allows them to showcase films that reflect their passion for social change. There are so
many stories out there waiting to be told and what better way to do that than through the
independent film?

Of course there is no better way!!

The film gives the viewing audience a visual aid, but also makes them a part of the story.
Being able to witness the struggles of the characters or subjects within the film touches a
part of the soul in a way that no other medium can. That is why we are happy to provide
an avenue in which filmmakers can tackle the issues that are important to them.

There are so many issues, such as hunger, abuse, political issues, and so many more that
require the attention of the world. Without knowing about the issues, how can those with
the means to do something do anything at all? In a way it is about raising the awareness
needed to initiate change and make the world a better place. We are so happy to be a part
of that.

So if you are a filmmaker, now is the time to pull that special film out of your collection
or to make a new one that shows those attending the festival the issue at hand and what
can be done to make a difference in the world. Even if one person is touched by your film
and they do something positive within society as a result, you have made a significant
impact on many lives.
